Chat removed

You can use the Note Station for that. We still offer that one. I am sorry if you miss Chat, it just wasn't coded well enough. Everybody could create chatroom, but even worse, literally everybody could just delete an entire chatroom with all its content, even if it was created by another user.

I have reactivated the chat app for those of you who used it as a clipboard to move content between devices. It is not meant to be used as a group chat app, although you can most certainly do that if you want to.

The section now has a retention of 3 months, meaning that ANY content in the chat will automatically be cleared after 3 months. So don't use it for long-term storage of information. We have the notes application for that.

Are messages in the Personal Space encrypted? In other words, is it private enough to use without admins being able to see messages in private chat areas?

I would advise against using the chat for personal or private information. While the messages ARE encrypted and not available for admins to read, there is nobody stopping an admin from gaining access to your entire account by simply resetting your password. Anybody who can log in as you can read your messages, and it is easy-peasy for an admin to take control of any account on the server.
