Bugs

These are the bugs on our new website that we are already aware of. Please don’t start new topics or send new messages about these. We will try to solve the bugs, but often it is just a matter of waiting for an update from the package/plugin developer.

Current Bugs

  • BUGS WE NEED TO LOOK IN TO OR DID LOOK IN TO BUT COULD NOT FINISH
  • Occasionally, when replying to a topic and then staying on that page, you’ll get a red notification banner telling you: “1 new reply — click to refresh”, where the new reply is just your OWN reply.
  • Albums made by members are not visible to visitors at all, not even public albums.
  • Selecting “Open” in an image in the “Explore Media” page will just throw you back to the overview.
  • Images uploaded for followers or connections are still visible to other users who are neither a follower nor a connection, but they are NO longer visible to visitors (who are not logged in). Private images are now private to everybody but the uploader and the admins, though.
  • Uploading cover images could be better. Images larger than 1920×1080 are not allowed, but the error showing this is gone before the user can read it.
  • MISSING FEATURES (NOT ACTUAL BUGS, BUT STILL ANNOYING)
  • When editing an image in the user library, changes to the title, description, tags, etc. are not saved. The entire edit functionality is gone?
  • Can’t edit the title of a post made in a space.
  • There seems to be no way to set the community page as the starting page for the domain.
  • THE BUGS BELOW ARE NOW SUPPOSED TO BE SOLVED!
  • The “General Website Stuff” section will show only one topic. You will need to click “Show More” again and again to see more topics.
  • Dark mode is not working very well yet. Many sections don’t adapt to the dark background by making the foreground light, resulting in some hard-to-read sections.
  • When a user receives a notification about a response to a topic the user started, clicking the notification does NOT bring the user to said topic but to a general activity feed.
  • When a member visits a space that has no discussions yet, they will get the option “Start the first discussion to open a forum for this space“, but this just throws the user back to the All Spaces overview.
  • After login, users are thrown to the WordPress backend instead of the frontend of the website.
  • Topics only show the avatar of the original poster and don’t show any avatars on replies.
  • Going to /media, then selecting People and searching for / going to a member will result in a blank page with just the header and footer directly connected and a ‘+’ sign underneath it. Clicking on the ‘+’ sign will add the media upload page underneath the footer, completely messing up the styling of the website.
  • Visitors browsing the /media pages still see the form to add a comment, even though they are not able to. The response emoticons don’t work either. Only links working for visitors are ‘Download’ and ‘Open’, which should also be the only ones visible.
  • When trying to upload images into a new album, there will be an error to please enter an album name, even though you clearly entered an album name.
  • When a new message is received, the messages icon in the left sidebar will indicate this, but the messages icon in the top menu does not indicate any new messages at all.
  • When images are uploaded as members-only or private, they show up as missing images in the member’s Media tab. The added info is there, and the image is physically present on the server, it just doesn’t show in the member’s profile area. The images DO appear in the global /media area though!
  • Comments added to the first image ever uploaded will also appear underneath the first post/page in the WordPress database! Remarks added to the second image ever also appear on the second page/post in the WordPress database. This is a HUGE, site-breaking bug! We will investigate if this only happens to pages that existed when WordPress was installed or if this keeps happening.
  • The banner informing users about the status or the new website breaks the menu. It is not possible to click any of the menu items.
  • Thumbnails in the media page are very low quality.
  • Banners did not migrate from the old site to the new. We are not going to waste time on this. Just 10 members can perfectly fine upload their banners again.
  • When receiving a notification about a newly earned badge, the notification will NOT bring the user to the Achievements tabs of their profile but just the general profile page.
  • Replies in the activity feed to posts that appeared in the activity feed will NOT place the reply in the actual topic that was started in the community forum, leading to confusing situations where members are not aware of their community post appearing in the activity feed and members responding in that feed not understanding why there is no response to their reply (which didn’t appear in the original community board post at all).
